About the Author
Linda Hatch has had a long career in clinical psychology including teaching, research, student counseling, child psychology and crisis intervention. In addition she worked for many years through the court system evaluating sex offenders, sexually violent predators and mentally ill offenders. In recent years her work has been in the field of trauma and addiction. Linda is the author of the Kindle book Living with a Sex Addict: The Basics from Crisis to Recovery. She devotes considerable time to her writing which includes blogging on her regular column on PsychCentral.com as well as on her own web site. Linda lives in Santa Barbara, California with her husband, their border collie Perry and their cat Clara.

Practical guide for relationships

Many therapists and recovering people have long known that successful individual recovery doesn't necessarily translate into successful relationship recovery. Dr. Hatch offers a clear and practical guide for translating basic recovery principles into foundations for approaching healthy relationships. This book fills a much need gap in the recovery literature.

From Sex Addiction to Intimacy

Relationships in Recovery offers much needed relationship solutions for those recovering from sexual addiction. In SAA meetings, participants often seem to pine for finding the right partner. In keeping with the Twelve Step ideal of "cleaning up our side of the street," Dr. Hatch emphasizes doing our part to become a better partner. In particular, she offers suggestions for knowing when we are ready to date.
In particular, the author has us take a look at all the things we want in a partner--then does something challenging: has us ask how we ourselves rate in these areas, and then helps set a course in becoming this type of person. In my own recovery experience, when I've felt centered, and not necessarily looking for someone, then an opportunistic meeting has often happened. Dr. Hatch then lays the groundwork for setting goals around improving in each of these areas, as well as setting healthy boundaries for relationships to come.
This books looks to be a much needed guide in relationship recovery for those of who want to change their relationship aspirations from If only... to What's the plan?

A must-have book for the recovering addict!!

Finally - a book to fulfill an important niche - that of the recovering sex addict who is single or would like to get a new start in his or her existing marriage or primary relationship. With the help of clear explanations and relevant exercises Dr. Hatch describes the preparatory work the addict needs to do, how to avoid falling back into old patterns, and what to aim for, expect, and bring about in a healthy relationship. The "Meditations for Relationships" section is the icing on the cake, a gift and a guide for every person in relationship. I highly recommended this very useful book.
