The understanding of GRACE among different factions within Christianity depends heavily on one’s understanding of justification, regeneration, sanctification, repentance, faith, and other biblical topics presented in this textbook. The author holds that GRACE is free, not in the sense of being cheap or easy, but as a free gift (Ephesians 2:9) with no strings attached, in contrast to Arminian or Calvinistic soteriology which add requirements on the “front end” or “back end” of salvation. The Free Grace position is a biblical alternative to these systems of soteriology and is presented as a corollary of dispensationalism, affirming that God’s “so great salvation” is absolutely free.

Dave Anderson graduated from Rice University in 1967. He received his Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1972 and his Ph.D. from Dallas Seminary in the Greek New Testament and Early Christian Literature in 1998. He and his wife Betty have served as church planters in the Houston area for over thirty years. He has served as Adjunct Professor for Dallas Seminary in Greek NT, Systematic Theology, and Bible Exposition and is currently President and Professor of Biblical Languages and Systematic Theology at Grace School of Theology.

Jim Reitman, a retired Air Force internist (2006), received his M.A. in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary (1983) and M.Div. equivalency at Denver Seminary (2007). He has served as Adjunct Professor in Hermeneutics at Denver Seminary and is currently a Teaching Leader and Mentor at Fellowship Bible Church in Colorado Springs. He published Unlocking Wisdom, a commentary on Job and Ecclesiastes, in 2008.

About the Author
On March 8, 2015, we unexpectedly lost our dear friend and co-author Gene Whittenburg. As the original author of INCOME TAX FUNDAMENTALS, Gene was critical in designing the forms-based approach that the book has used successfully for more than two decades. It is simply not possible to quantify the degree of our loss. Gene started his life in small-town Texas; entered the Navy; served his country in Vietnam, earned Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. degrees; and served as a distinguished faculty member at San Diego State University for almost 40 years. The outpouring of sorrow and gratitude from countless former students and colleagues are a wonderful tribute to Gene's love and devotion to teaching. We intend to continue to honor Gene by upholding his standard of publishing excellence for many years to come.

Dr. Steven Gill is an Assistant Professor of accounting and taxation in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy at San Diego State University. He received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida, a M.S. in Taxation from Northeastern University and a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Gill worked almost 12 years in the field of accounting, serving in key roles in public accounting, internal audit, corporate accounting and, ultimately, vice president of finance. Although currently in inactive status, Dr. Gill held a Certified Public Accountant designation. His research interests include a concentration in taxation including mutual funds and college savings ("529") plans and wider interests in the behavior of taxpayers when facing taxes with little or no enforcement. Dr. Gill has published a wide variety of articles in various academic and practitioner journals. He has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels with a focus on teaching taxation and financial accounting.

Martha Altus-Buller is a CPA with more than 25 years of tax accounting experience. She attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon for two years, holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of California at San Diego and a M.S. in Accounting from San Diego State University. Ms. Altus Buller was awarded the Sells award for scoring among the top in the country on the May 1983 CPA exam. Her practical experience includes work as a tax manager for Arthur Young, now Ernst & Young, one of the Big 8 accounting firms at the time.

Overpriced but decent

The book is fine. It's outrageously overpriced just like every textbook and several basic pieces of information are incorrect for the current tax year (several tax tables). For the price the publisher insists on charging, it should be PERFECT. But it's written in a way that's understandable and it at least gets the job done.

Necessary Purchase for Class but Overpriced

A necessary book to purchase for class. However, DO NOT purchase if you need CENGAGENOW-this is not the bundle offer, just as the description stated it only comes with the H&R Block access code. Fairly easy to read and there were some chapters that needed more clarification that can be obtain through class discussion. I agree that this book is overpriced. The best thing was that It arrived on time as promised.

I absolutely LOVE this book and am enjoying taking my time reading ...

I first discovered this book at my neighborhood library and found it so fascinating that I had to buy my own copy through Amazon. I absolutely LOVE this book and am enjoying taking my time reading every single page. I find nutrition so interesting and this book is very inspiring and makes you want to go out and buy all of these wonderful foods because you know how good they are for you! The other day I bought some fresh, organic okra, peppers and blueberries at my local farmers market and couldn't wait to get home and look them up in the book and find out how good they were going to be for me. I also enjoyed reading the top ten foods of nutrition experts/doctors in the book. Jonny Bowden, thank you for taking the time to publish this great book!

Inspired My Kids to Try New Veggies

I let my kids (ages 7, 9 and 12) look through this book and pick new fruits and veggies to try. They love seeing what nutrients are in each food and looking for the ones they think would be best for them! As an adult I appreciate having this as a reference book and refer to it periodically for inspiration in living and eating healthy. It includes sections on Vegetables, Grains, Beans/Legumes, Fruits, Nuts/Seeds/Nut Butters, Soy, Dairy, Meat/Poultry/Eggs, Fish/Seafood, Beverages, Herbs/Spices/Condiments, Oils and Sweeteners.

One of my favorite parts is that at the end of each section there is an "Expert's Top Ten" list included because everyone always wants to know what those who REALLY know about health and nutrition eat! Clear winners in these lists are blueberries, spinach, kale, nuts, broccoli, and wild salmon. There are also some surprises - coffee made two expert lists! It's really interesting (and informative) to see what the experts eat on a daily basis! Great book!

You can truly believe what is in this book. I love the red starred items, which shows the healtiest of the healthiest foods. No silly diet gimmicks here, just the facts of what is the best for your body. I review this book all the time to continue to learn and add more and more of the healthiest foods to my diet. I have lost 190 pounds with this books help, because if you eat the healtiest foods, your body doesn't crave food / nutrition, it's really that simple. Parag Saigaonkar is a principal with Deloitte Consulting ,working in the India market. From 2005 to July 2013, Parag was the Regional Managing Director for the firm s global off-shore consulting services out of India during which time he helped grow the practice from a few hundred to several thousand professionals across several offices in India. Parag began his career with the firm in 1990. In 1995, he moved to Hong Kong and later, also had a stint in Beijing. Parag moved from Beijing to Mumbai in April 2005 where he presently lives with his wife Vandana and his two sons Pranav and Arjun. When he is not pursuing clients, Parag likes to spend time with his family, mostly negotiating deals between his two boys. Most feuds at home have been taken care of by his specially prepared pasta or a quick road trip to Pune. His mental notes about people and situations around him led him to blogging at first, and later to The Perfect Storm.

Book is in the format of blog entries from the Managing Director of Deloitte Consulting in India. Born in India , but raised and schooled in Canada, author straddles both cultures. This book is an interesting window into the opportunities and challenges facing the next generation of Indian leaders. It is certainly an eye opener and dispels myths North Americans may have of India today.

Great read for Westerners seeking knowledge of the global work force - whether to hire or for for those intending to work in Asia.

About the Author
Growing up in Chicago at a time when neighbourhoods were going through transitions in ethnic and racial composition, Richard T. Schaefer found himself increasingly intrigued by what was happening, how people were reacting, and how these changes were affecting neighbourhoods and people s jobs. His interest in social issues caused him to gravitate to sociology courses at Northwestern University, where he eventually received a BA in sociology. Originally as an undergraduate I thought I would go on to law school and become a lawyer. But after taking a few sociology courses, I found myself wanting to learn more about what sociologists studied, and fascinated by the kinds of questions they raised. This fascination led him to obtain his MA and PhD in sociology from the University of Chicago. Dr. Schaefer s continuing interest in race relations led him to write his master s thesis on the membership of the Ku Klux Klan and his doctoral thesis on racial prejudice and race relations in Great Britain.Dr. Schaefer went on to become a professor of sociology and now teaches at DePaul University in Chicago. In 2004 he was named to the Vincent DePaul professorship in recognition of his undergraduate teaching and scholarship. He has taught introductory sociology for over 35 years to students in colleges, adult education programs, nursing programs, and even a maximum-security prison. Dr. Schaefer s love of teaching is apparent in his interaction with his students. I find myself constantly learning from the students who are in my classes and from reading what they write. Their insights into the material we read or current events that we discuss often become part of future course material and sometimes even find their way into my writing. Dr. Schaefer is author of the eleventh edition of "Sociology" (McGraw-Hill, 2008) and of the fourth edition of "Sociology Matters" (McGraw-Hill, 2009). He is also the author of "Racial and Ethnic Groups", now in its eleventh edition, and "Race and Ethnicity in the United States", fifth edition. Together with William Zellner, he co-authored the eighth edition of "Extraordinary Groups", published by Worth in 2007. Dr. Schaefer served as the general editor of the three-volume "Encyclopedia of Race, Ethnicity, and Society", published by Sage in 2008. His articles and book reviews have appeared in many journals, including "American Journal of Sociology", "Phylon: A Review of Race and Culture", "Contemporary Sociology", "Sociology and Social Research", "Sociological Quarterly", and "Teaching Sociology". He served as president of the Midwest SociologicalSociety in 1994 1995.Dr. Schaefer s advice to students is to look at the material and make connections to your own life and experiences. Sociology will make you a more attentive observer of how people in groups interact and function. It will also make you more aware of people s different needs and interests and perhaps more ready to work for the common good, while still recognizing the individuality of each person.

A essential companion to most Nursing Foundation text book.

At first I thought I had the necessary skills in critical thinking, yet the fact is that such a skill for Nursing is complex and would benefit students should there is a guide that breakdown all of its components for proper assimilation. Through this well written book which detailed the steps and all their logical sequences, it had deepen my critical thinking ability for professional Nursing beyond what was offered by the Nursing Fundamental text book. It covers the basic five steps of Nursing Process and its application from care plan creation to delegation. Full of insights for both inside and outside the clinical setting. And as a first-time Nursing student like myself, I would highly recommend this book.

Great Purchase!

This is a practical guide to Critical Thinking. It is written in a clear and straightforward manner, which I found to be a breath of fresh air, and very helpful in learning how to be a better critical thinker. As a working nurse, I find the field is becoming more complex, which requires strong critical thinking skills. Although I do have good critical thinking skills I have developed from my experiences, I wanted them to be stronger. I purchased this book in hopes of doing so, and find that I am learning a lot from it! I would recommend this to novice and expert alike! A really good buy!

The concrete documentation of the life of the church in the two=thirds world, of the many martyrs of the last decades, contrasts with the doctrinal haggling and impasses within the curia. This book is ABSOLUTELY true! It provides extremely detailed and logical insight into the mindset of Asian luxury consumers, backed by easy-to-understand graphs and charts. The information in this book is well-researched and supported; this is useful for anyone looking to venture into the luxury business in Asia. It is also a must-read for anyone even remotely interested in luxury brands; the book is written in a very enticing manner that isn't in the least bit boring! Definitely will be a favorite on my bookshelf.

Good insight on Asian market

If you are thinking about investing a business in Asia, this is one of the books you must read. You'll learn a lot about what Asian people in different countries think and behave and reasons behind all their behaviors. One drawback is that the auther didn't go deeper in Southeast Asian markets. I would love to know more about SE Asia since they are totally unique markets. People assume that they are just like China, but they are not.
