Fun, sweet romance!

In She's The One (Island Bliss Book 2) by Kim Boykin, Melissa really is multi-talented. She runs her Isle of Palms realty office as her paid job, but what she love to do most is play matchmaker. She is successful in both roles, particularly the matchmaking - a gift handed down through generations. With a total of 49 couples matched so far, Melissa really doesn't mind always being the bridesmaid. She's not looking for true love for herself. In fact, her aunt told her is she would lose her matchmaking gift if she ever found it for herself.
Shane, a contractor, has been attracted to Melissa since he met her a few months ago. He is very clear about his feelings towards her, and Melissa feels that spark when they are together, but she is determined that someone else is his perfect match. Shane knows what and who he wants though, and he is just as determined to show Melissa that She's The One for him. At the same time, Bo, Melissa's musician friend and whose band she sometimes plays guitar with, is just as attracted to Melissa. Melissa likes Bo, he is the safe choice, but there are no sparks. Will Melissa play it safe and never know what could become of her and Shane? Or will she finally follow her heart for herself?
She's The One is a little magical and a lot of fun to read. Melissa was a little frustrating at times, but at the same time she was open and honest which I love in a character. Shane is patient...he knows Melissa has feelings for him too, even if she keeps trying to deny it. I felt for Shane, pursuing a woman who is determined he's not meant for her. Bo is a great secondary character, but in no way is this a love triangle! There are a lot of secondary characters who give great feeling to She's The One. I particularly liked Pearl! Kim's descriptions of the island, people, and homes made me want to be there, lying pool side with all these fun people!
She's The One has great flow and is an entertaining read that I'd recommend to romance readers looking for a sweet romance.

Fun and flirty

She's The One is a sweet story which will appeal if you're into a bit of fun and fantasy. I have to confess that being a cynic I struggled to cope with the matchmaker theme, but this book is positive, light, fun and flirty and would be an ideal basking in the sun weekend read for anybody looking for an uncomplicated story.

great hero

I really wanted to like this one. It seemed to have it all. A great hero, a cute heroine, terrific setting, modern day, fun, flirty, etc. I really liked the hero. A contractor on the small island off the coast. he builds and remodels home so he is in close contact with the heroine, a real estate agent, etc. He is in love with her but she cannot fall in love, marry and have a life of her own because she is a matchmaker and it would interfere with her magic. So, get this. She is willing to give up a life of her own in order to match up random people that don't have the sense to do it themse4lves.

Don't read any further if you don't want to know how this one effected me. The heroine got on my last nerve. the hero has an ex. She is a snake, etc. she shows up on the scene because she suddenly wants the hero back. he wants nothing to do with her, it has been years and he has moved on plus he is having a hard time trying to figure out what he saw in her in the first place. he wants the heroine. however, the heroine has decided, thru her magic, that the ex is his soul mate so she is going to get them back together whether they like it or not. REALLY, I think she may have missed a few chapters in her matchmaker guide book.
he pursues her. I really got tired of him running after her the way he did. Of course, she is running as fast as she can away from him. She has feelings/chemistry with him but alas, she can't mess with her "gift" and he is the soul mate of the ex whether he wants it or not. Oh get real.
She was all over the place to me. She wants to match him to the ex and when the ex makes a play for him she gets all in a huff and runs away - with him in hot pursuit. isn't this what she wanted? Oh, she has the hero as well as a local band member on hold. She can't seem to make up her mind. You either do or you don't! if you have to draw up a list to decide which guy you want then you better walk away from both. Well, she can always "settle" for the band member. again, really? I just couldn't take this girl. I really wished better for the hero. I'm sure he will get her in the end but at what cost!! I quit reading. I was not enjoying the read so I gave up. I'm sure I am in the minority here but this girl was just too much for me. She needed help.
